Rangers Football Club have today confirmed that head coach Russell Martin has been sacked after just four months in charge at Ibrox, following a dismal start to the season - both domestically and in Europe.

Sunday's 1-1 draw at Falkirk leaves the Light Blues in eighth place and on eight points in the Scottish Premiership - 11 points behind leaders Hearts - having won just one of their opening seven league matches.

The Gers are also yet to register a point in the Europa League, having lost their opening two group games.

Kevin Muscat, Sean Dyche and former boss Steven Gerrard are among the front runners to replace the former Southampton manager at Ibrox.
