Rangers will face either Hearts or Hibernian in the Premier Sports Cup final on December 13 following a narrow victory over Aberdeen at Hampden Park.
The 'Gers had created very little right up until the end of the first half when McInnes' men upped the tempo - Bouanani's effort was saved by Aberdeen 'keeper Müller; Ryan Naderi's header flew over the crossbar and Kim Min-Su sliced his shot wide of the post.
The impressive Bouanani fired his shot wide around 10 minutes into the second half after cutting in from the right hand side, with Naderi agonisingly close to making contact with the ball in the penalty area.
Bouanani went close again in the 64th minute after some impressive play, with Müller denying the Algerian winger with his foot to keep the scores level.
Substitute Dan Neil had a couple of chances in quick succession but was unable to convert and Bouanani would go close again a few minutes later, cutting in brilliantly but firing his effort wide of the post.
Aberdeen had a couple of good chances but let Rangers off the hook and in the 83rd minute the deadlock was finally broken following a counter attack.
James Penrice fired the ball low into the box and Naderi was there to convert - to the delight of the Rangers supporters behind the Aberdeen goal!
The Light Blues held on for the win and McInnes' side are now unbeaten in eleven games in all competitions.
