New Rangers manager Derek McInnes have been officially unveiled at Ibrox after agreeing a three-year deal to replace Danny Rohl.

McInnes joined the Gers as a player in 1995 and made 52 appearances for the club over a five-year spell, winning two major honours in that time.

The Paisley-born former midfielder spent 8 years as manager of Aberdeen, winning the League Cup in the 2013-14 season - before taking over at Kilmarnock in 2022 where he would help guide Killie back to the top flight at the first attempt.

In 2023-24 McInnes achieved a fourth place finish with Kilmarnock, securing European football for the Ayrshire club - something Killie had managed only once in the previous 22 years.

Having surpassed expectation at Hearts last season and taking the title race with Celtic down to the final day of the campaign, McInnes will be looking to bring success back to Ibrox. Rangers' last major trophy came in December 2023: their League Cup final victory over Aberdeen.

McInnes had described his return to Ibrox as "special" and a "privilege". McInnes: "My father supported the team. 31 years ago, when I signed here as a player, my dad was in the gaffer's room next door - to think that I'm in that seat is pretty special."
